Friday, August 22: Kung Kosher Comedy Presents the 4th and a Half Annual Cafe con Comedy on Friday, August 22 at 7:30 pm. The event takes place at Dolores Park Cafe, 501 Dolores St. at 18th St., and tickets are $7-$15 (at the door). The Kung Pao Kosher Comedy's "4th and a Half Annual Cafe con Comedy" is a bi-annual night of very diverse stand up comedy at the Dolores Park Cafe in San Francisco's Mission District. The line-up features a half a dozen comics: Mormon, Filipino, African American, Indian, Jewish, Caucasian American, gay/ lesbian/ straight, and more. MCCLA's Video Fest is proud to be celebrating its fifth consecutive year with Existence-Co-Existence. Video Fest 08 will be focused on people's existence and their surroundings, the relationships that develop between the human being and nature, community, family and their social surroundings. Video Fest 2008 categories include Documentary, Short Fiction, Youth Video, Video del Barrio / Neighborhood Video, and Experimental. 1st prize is $1,000, 2nd prize is $500, and 3rd prize is $300 for Youth Video. DEADLINE for submitting videos is September 11, 2008. Entry Fee is $20. Festival dates are October 17 and 18 at Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts Theater. Sunday, May 25: Carnaval San Francisco 2008 Parade will take place along Mission Street on Sunday, May 25th at 10 am. The parade begins at 24th and Bryant Streets, and ends at 17th and Mission Streets. Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts is looking for volunteers for float construction and decoration.
